Different types of collagen
Type I

Type IV forms the respiratory tract and is involved in the bronchial tubes, the lungs, around the intestines, the tissue around the heart and the intestines.
Type V
This type forms the hair and cell surfaces.
Bioavailability
How well collagen is absorbed depends on several things. Firstly, if you have a Vitamin C deficiency you can’t metabolise collagen. Secondly, if you are low in stomach acid, you won’t be able to absorb it.
